ABOUT JOANNA TURCHET
Jo specialises in Wills, probate, administration of estates and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Jo’s key skills are listening and giving clear explanations whilst providing comprehensive and concise advice.
Jo’s focus is to always offer clients an efficient and friendly service. Jo feels it is important to try and keeping matters as simple as possible and free of stress, particularly at a time when everything can seem overwhelming.
Jo is a full member of STEP – The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. STEP is an international professional organisation whose members are lawyers, accountants, and trustees, all of whom are dedicated to the highest professional standards in providing help to families to plan for their futures. Full STEP members are internationally recognised as experts in their field.
Jo has dealt with estates of all values from ones with very few assets to an estate worth £20million. She has looked after estates with property and assets overseas which needed probate documents to be created in other jurisdictions. She had a very interesting proprietary estoppel case concerning a farming estate with a missing will and has dealt with gifts of items which were considered national treasures, high value art which was dealt with through large auction houses but also standard household auctions of everyday items. Interesting cases Jo has dealt with also include estates where there was no will in evidence which meant her tracing family trees and using the services of genealogists.
Jo is married and has relocated from Wiltshire to Bedale, North Yorkshire. You may well see Jo out and about locally sketching, painting, or photographing the beauty of the Dales and surrounding areas. Jo can also be found out on the hills with a big grin on her face getting wet and muddy trail running!
